Our Story

A runner who couldn’t find the right spikes.

In 2018, Marcus Halberd was a sub-elite 1500m runner in Austin, Texas, with a problem: the spikes he wanted didn’t exist in the US without importing from Europe. So he made them himself.

Three years of slow, deliberate growth followed. Every pair tested by real athletes. Every design decision driven by performance data and runner feedback. No venture capital. No hype cycles. Just better shoes for committed runners.

Then in 2022, our first trail shoe landed in the right hands. The reviews spoke for themselves. The community grew. And a brand that started in track spikes found its way onto mountain ridgelines and city streets.

Today, Halberd Athletics is three distinct lines united by one principle: build for the committed, never for the casual.
